The Big Jump

Proudly raising money for Big Brothers Big Sisters North Canterbury

Having two kids of my own, I understand, the value a positive role model can have on a child. I opened my Salon on, July 6th 2020, on my daughter Jasmine’s 5th birthday (coincidentally on full moon).

My business is all about ’locals supporting locals”. I use and stock local, organic, vegan and sustainable products, from the famous award winning Aleph Beauty, Medina organic skincare, Bahama bod ect… So I was looking for a local charity to support.

On House of Jasmine’s 1st birthday (a full moon) event we had Jo and Ellie deliver a heartfelt speech to inform my clients what Big Brothers Big Sisters of North Canterbury is all about. This much-treasured non-profit organisation creates a positive change for our youth through professionally supported, mentoring relationships.

It was a no-brainer that I chose this charity to support through my salon. Previously I raised funds through raffles, when I saw the bungy jump opportunity, I thought why not!! My target was $600 to qualify for the bungy. My clients and friends donated generously, I was blown away by the support, raising just $5 shy of $700.

I decided to go first up and was nice to see half a dozen people in line getting ready to jump for Big Brothers Big Sisters.

I will never forget that day, March 19th 2022 (again…. coincidentally on full moon), I stepped out of the salon, to bungy jump in Hanmer Springs, for an awesome youth mentoring programme in North Canterbury.
